If your husband personally guaranteed the business debt (which is very common), that creditor can sue your husband personally and collect the judgment from his personal assets, including a joint bank account. In California, all of your community property is also liable for that debt, which would include a separate bank account of yours if the money in that account came from your earnings during the marriage.
